Description: Resident forest bird. It has a crown of gray-brown and white on the head and, next to the short black beak, a "mustache", also black. The chest and belly show a rosy-brown plumage, while the back has a darker brown color. The wings feature a black and white pattern accompanied by blue and black toppings. The rump is white.


Habitat: Coniferous forests and mixed forests.


Where to find in Arouca Geopark: Bustelo (Moldes); Forcada; Granja  Póvoa Reguenga; Souto Redondo; Vilarinho (Canelas).
