Small red damselfly | Ceriagrion tenellum

Description: Species with red eyes, thorax with two diagonal dark lines, abdomen and red paws without dark spots. The female has a more or less dark color abdomen. The adult measures between 25-35 mm, and it is possible to observe it from April to October.

Habitat: It occurs in different types of habitat, from small irrigation channels to wide lagoons with abundant vegetation.

Where to find in the Arouca Geopark: Drave Stream, Moldes Stream, Pena Amarela Stream, Freita’s plateau streams, Paiva River, Paivô River.
