S7: “From prehistory to the contemporaneity in the Freita Mountain”

Summary: The Freita Mountain’s plateau has been occupied by man since ancient times, not only for its morphology, but also for the abundance of useful raw material for the everyday life, whether in the prehistory or nowadays. The trail starts in Albergaria da Serra, where there was a hostel that has been built by the end of the 13th century and has remained intact until the middle of the 16th century, at least. Then, we’ll go through mountain trails over the Freita’s plateau, from where we can observe typical rural and agricultural landscapes, megalithic monuments, the Pedras Boroas and medieval trails that can date back to the Roman period.

Notes: For each program, it is allowed a maximum of 50 students and a minimum of 15, per tutor. If you have a superior or inferior number of participants, please contact us. The pedestrian trail is done between the Albergaria da Serra village and the Mamoas de Monte Calvo.
