História Pinguça
The “Pinguça” handmade liqueurs originated in a small, simple regional kitchen, where infusions of brandy macerated with fruit and spices rested in small vats. Only a year old, they won the Rural Criativa Award 2013, a distinction that boosted the production of Pinguça liqueurs and their promotion nationwide. Growth also led to the construction and inauguration, in 2015, of the Eduardo de Noronha Dias Distillery, located in the parish of Alvarenga, in the UNESCO World Geopark of Arouca. A building with contemporary, irreverent lines, in perfect harmony with the surrounding countryside, where bagaceira brandy is produced exclusively from Vinho Verde – the only one in our country to do so. This is the raw material for Pinguça liqueurs, which are also produced and bottled here. Stories to discover on a visit to the site, where you can learn about the production process of the brandy and liqueurs, taste them and even make your own liqueur.
