História Brandão de Vasconcelos Square
Praça Brandão de Vasconcelos is located in the heart of the town of Arouca, where people used to meet on Sundays, passing through or in the shade of the linden trees, around the fountain that was once at the center of the space. This square has undergone more than one intervention, the last being in 2012, as part of the urban regeneration project, when the foundations of the old parish church of São Bartolomeu could be identified, as well as the communal cemetery and a sheltered space for pilgrims and market-goers. The current configuration of the square has an amphitheatrical shape and the fountain is at one end.
