Rafting

Team spirit and a lot of adrenaline are the main ingredients for practicing this sport. It consists of using pneumatic boats (rafts) to descend the wild waters of the River Paiva, overcoming obstacles of varying degrees of difficulty. For some experts, the River Paiva is “the best and most complete whitewater course in the country” because it has several sections with different levels of difficulty: Meitriz-Areinho (level I/II); Espiunca-Travanca (level II/III); Vau-Espiunca (level III/IV); and Areinho-Vau (level V/VI). This sport requires a minimum level of flow and is essentially practiced between October and May.
