Education for Sustainable Development is one of the main areas of work of the UNESCO World Geopark of Arouca, an open-air laboratory of excellence for various areas: geology, biology, geography, tourism, natural sciences, environmental studies, sport and citizenship education, among others.
“Schools in the Arouca Geopark” will offer a wide range of field trips and activities that are part of the Arouca Geopark’s Educational Programs and that enhance student learning and the consolidation of knowledge in a non-formal context.
For the 2024/2025 school year, you’ll find a wide range of programs designed on the basis of the Essential Learning defined by the Directorate-General for Education and the territory’s infrastructures:
Field trips, promoted and promoted by AGA – Arouca Geopark Association; Educational activities proposed by AGA member and partner companies, including sports activities;
Arouca Geopark Museums and Environmental Education Facilities;
Promotional offer of meals and accommodation for schools running educational programs in Arouca Geopark.
