Jew's earAuricularia auricula-judae

Shape: ear-shaped fungus, sometimes lobed. The upper part is velvety and brown and the inner part has folds. When dehydrated, it becomes wrinkled. It usually forms groups or fasciculate layers.

Flesh: gelatinous

Spores: 16-22 x 6-7 µm, +-cylindrical or arched (banana-shaped), smooth and colourless

Taste: sweet

Odour: faint, pleasant
