Fetus-ordinaryPteridium aquilinum
A perennial plant with a very elongated and branched rhizome, usually quite deep. The fronds are marcescent and biseriate, i.e. they are arranged in a row, two by two, along the new parts of the rhizome. The limb is ovate-triangular and leathery. The petiole is long and strong, tomentose and dark in the proximal region. The sori are marginal, linear and continuous, usually gathered in groups.
