Greater horseshoe batRhinolophus ferrumequinum

It has a horseshoe-shaped nose and no tragus. The nasal structure is characterized by a broad lancet at the base which ends in a prominent tip, and a rounded connective process which is shorter than the saddle. When lethargic, it wraps itself completely in the wing membranes.

Dimension Length: 5 - 7 cm

Habitat During the summer they set up breeding colonies in warm places in buildings such as attics, cellars, haystacks or underground shelters. During the hibernation period, they mainly shelter in caves and mines.
