KestrelFalco tinnunculus

Resident bird of prey. The male has a rust-colored back and black dappled plumage, with dark pointed wing tips. The abdomen is yellowish-white with dark spots. The head and tail are bluish-grey, with the tail ending in a broad black band. The female is less colorful than the male, with no bluish-grey coloration on the head and tail. The beak of this hawk is short and strong.
