Vinous amanitaAmanita rubescens

Hat: cream, brown to ochraceous-brown or olive-yellow, covered in ruby-red or reddish-brown, with remnants of a greyish veil in the form of plaques or warts.

Blades: free, white and then stained reddish-brown.

Stalk: whitish, turning reddish-brown especially at the base of the stalk, membranous ring, white and then washed with burgundy, striated on the upper side; base with an onion-like bulb.

Flesh: white, quickly stained with red.

Spores: 8-10 x 6-7 μm, elliptical and amyloid.

Taste: sweet, radish.

Odour: faint.

Dimension Hat: 4-14 cm | Foot: 8-16 x 1-2.5 cm

Habitat In coniferous and hardwood forests, on non-calcareous soils.
