KingfisherAlcedo atthis

A resident species with very colorful plumage. The back and wings are bright blue to green, while the belly is covered in reddish-orange feathers. The head is large and the long beak stands out. The legs and tail are short.

Habitat It frequents a wide variety of freshwater, brackish and even saltwater habitats. It is not very common in the mountains, but can be seen in watercourses at altitudes of over 1000 meters.
