Blue EmperorAnax imperator

It is the largest European dragonfly. The male has green or blue eyes above and yellow or green below; the abdomen is blue with black spots and the wings are hyaline. The female has a greenish-black abdomen (some individuals are blue) and dark wings.

Dimension head-abdomen: 66-84 mm | posterior wing: 45-52 mm

Habitat It occurs preferentially in ponds and watercourses with little current.
