Honey beeApis mellifera

It has two pairs of membranous wings and a well-differentiated head, thorax and abdomen. The head and thorax are dark brown or rufous and the abdomen is dark brown with yellow transverse stripes. The thorax is covered in hair, from which three pairs of dark brown to black legs emerge; the third pair of legs has structures adapted for collecting pollen.
