Common caneArundo donax

Large, rhizomatous perennial herb. It has simple or slightly branched stems. The leaves are lanceolate-linear, with sharp margins and yellowish-green auricles at the base. The flowers are gathered in violet, oblong, dense panicles with short peduncles. The fruits are oblong caryopses.
