ScabsChalcides striatus

The head is relatively undifferentiated from the body, with a more or less triangular shape. The body is covered in smooth, shiny scales. The limbs are small, with three toes. The back has nine dark longitudinal stripes on a brownish, beige or yellowish background, with metallic reflections. The belly is whitish or grayish.

Habitat Open, exposed places with abundant herbaceous cover, such as meadows, agricultural fields and woodland clearings.
