Water blackbirdCinclus cinclus

A resident species with predominantly dark plumage on the back and wings, with a white spot on the chest. The small tail is turned slightly upwards. Its powerful feet, solid skeleton and oil gland, the uropygium, give this bird the ability to dive.

Habitat It nests in crevices in rocks or in the trunks of dead trees, near fast-moving streams.
