Shape: at the start of development it is egg-shaped, attached to the soil by a micellar cord. As it grows, it opens, identifying 4 to 8 arms partially covered in a blackish viscous substance.

Stalk: relatively well formed, whitish or pinkish.

Spores: 5-6.5 x 2-2.5 µm, more or less cylindrical to elliptical, smooth.

Taste: sweet

Odour: unpleasant and very strong, like a corpse
