Dense eelgrassEgeria densa

A dark green plant that forms “clumps” at the bottom of the water and can grow into floating mats near the surface. The roots are filamentous, at the base of the flats and at some nodes, especially in loose fragments of the mother plant. The stems have short, fragile internodes and break easily. The leaves are arranged regularly along the stems in dense whorls. The flowers are solitary and white in color.
