Striated hood mossOrthotrichum striatum

Acrocarpous moss forming small clumps with lanceolate leaves with recurved margins. The capsules are immersed or slightly emergent, more or less smooth, with a well-developed peristome whose exostome shows 16 characteristic teeth, strongly recurved outwards when dry. The calyptra is hairy, covering almost the entire capsule.
