Stone hood mossOrthotrichum striatum

This acrocarpous moss forms sturdy clumps of narrow, lanceolate leaves with recurved and denticulated margins near the apex. It has numerous filiform, uniseriate, simple or branched, brown propagules all over the plant, visible under a magnifying glass. The capsule is striated and covered by the calyptra with many hairs.
