Maritime pinePinus pinaster

A monoecious, resinous tree. When young, it has an upright trunk and pyramidal crown; later cylindrical-conical and finally large and airy. The rhytidome is thick, deeply cleft, reddish-brown and dark. The needle-shaped leaves are found in pairs, are rigid and grayish green in color. The pine cone is light brown and shiny and the seeds (pine nuts) it contains have a membranous wing.
