Perennial herbaceous plant, prostrate, with creeping stems that root at the nodes. The leaves have 3 leaflets, obovate or elliptical, with the central one usually being larger, entire, but toothed in the apical third. The upper surface is green, more or less hairy, and the lower surface is paler due to dense, silvery hairiness. The flowers appear solitary.
