Scale of the NorthSqualius carolitertii

Medium-sized fusiform body. The large head has a round profile and a subterminal mouth. The body is covered with large scales, which are darker at the edges (silver gray), giving it a reticulated pattern. The dorsal fin has a rectilinear profile, while the anal fin has a convex profile with 8-9 branched rays. The origin of the dorsal fin is aligned with the end of the pelvic fins.

Habitat It occurs from mountainous rivers to lowland areas, in places with greater depths and higher current speeds.
