Barn owlStrix aluco

Resident species. It has a large, rounded head and relatively short, broad, rounded wings. Its coloration varies from auburn to grey-brown, with its plumage completely spotted with fine stripes and dark spots. The facial disc is quite marked and homogeneous and the tail is finely and indistinctly barred. It has dark claws and eyes and a yellowish beak.
