Fern mossThuidium tamariscinum

They are bright green or yellow in color and form clumps. Their cauloids are creeping, flat and regularly 2 to 3 times branched and the phyllids of the branches are very small. Because they resemble small ferns, they are commonly identified as fern moss.

Dimension Max. height: 20 cm

Habitat Predominantly terrestrial, with acidic soils. In oak woods, it appears associated with the base of trees, leaf litter and moist soil, in shady places. It also occurs on rocks or in cracks in large blocks.
