27 – Levada Route with Why Not on Nature

From the surroundings of the Barrosa mills, we wander among beautiful views and villages with a rural setting, passing by the Reguengos, often indicative of lands belonging to kings, or if the Camossas house nearby were a semi-private house belonging to a viscount, come and discover the history. The mills are an important historical asset and represent the ancient milling activity in the region. These structures were used to grind cereals, mainly corn, and turn them into flour, which was often transported by mules. Throughout the tour we’ll find the old levadas, water channels built to transport water between locations. Come and find out what a presa and an entaladouro are.

- In the event of adverse weather conditions, the interpreted visit can be rescheduled for a new date favorable to both parties;
