Arouca Geopark Autochthonous Forest Week

From November 18 to 24, Arouca Geopark is promoting Autochthonous Forest Week. With a variety of activities aimed at different audiences, the program aims to raise awareness of the importance and conservation of our forests and native species.

During this week, participants will be able to take part in a range of activities, such as a mycological walk, a forest bath, a cyanotype workshop, an illustration workshop, among others.

This week is organized by AGA – Associação Geoparque Arouca, in partnership with the Municipality of Arouca, the Entre Douro e Vouga Forestry Association and the Arouca and Escariz School Groups.

November 18 – Monday

10:00-11:30 – Seed collection and sowing (acorns and others to be defined)

Location: Canelas Primary School

Target audience: Canelas Kindergarten pupils

14:30-16:30 – Art and science | Cyanotype workshop

Location: Arouca Secondary School

Target audience: General public

10:00-11:00 – Forest in the classroom

Location: Escariz Primary and Secondary School

Target audience: 8th grade students

Afternoon

14:00-17:00 – Reforestation on Sra. da Mó

Location: Monte da Senhora da Mó, Baldios de Moldes

Target audience: Students from the Science Club at Arouca Secondary School

 

November 20 – Wednesday

9:00-12:00 – Mycological walk
