Discover Industrial Tourism

Discovering Industrial Tourism is an initiative of Turismo de Portugal, consisting of a series of activities that provide an opportunity to discover the industrial heritage and living industry that characterize and differentiate our country’s territories.

Arouca Geopark is committed to a new tourism segment, both in terms of living industry and industrial heritage. Arouca’s gastronomy is at the forefront of this type of tourism offer, which will include guided tours and presentations of the cooking processes.

Industrial Tourism will allow Arouca Geopark to structure and promote an offer based on themed itineraries, depending on tourist demand, meeting the expectations of visitors looking for authentic and original experiences, such as understanding the manufacturing process – current or past – of a particular product, understanding how the machinery works or even trying out the final product.
