Curiosity about macrofungi (mushrooms) unites a group of citizens who are enthusiastic about discovering them. Since 2022, this group has been carrying out scientific studies of the various specimens it collects in the Arouca Geopark. The study takes place weekly in the Science Workshop at Arouca Secondary School, where participants have the opportunity to learn about the identification, ecology and importance of mushrooms in the ecosystem. In addition, the group organizes field trips and workshops to deepen practical knowledge. Any citizen interested in joining this group can express their intention and join this community dedicated to mycology.
