Arouca Geopark is a territory with a strong cultural and ethnological identity, portrayed in the variety of arts and crafts, such as linen work, hand and machine embroidery, slate work, basketry and wooden miniatures. These products have gained importance over the centuries and have become inseparable from the history, past and present, of this region and its people. In a joint effort to keep alive the memory of our past, especially that of those who, with calloused hands, tilled and built the land they bequeathed to us and which we are required to perpetuate, activities are being created and publicized that try to focus on quality, genuineness, creativity in innovation and the incorporation of production techniques for products inspired by all of Arouquense’s heritage.
