Small Route
The Santa Catarina chapel, in Fuste, and the Rio Frades village are the two possibilities to enter in the «Black Gold Route». Along the route that has as main attraction the tungsten mines of Rio de Frades, widely explored by the German, during the World War II, we are followed by the waters of the Pena Amarela and Covela streams that are perfect for the practice of canyoning. Besides the Rio de Frades village, Pedrógão also deserves a stop to recharge the batteries.
