S10: “ Between Romans, Christians and Muslims”

Summary: Starting from the Interactive Tourism Shop of Arouca, where we can better learn about the history of the municipality of Arouca, we will get to know in detail the Municipal Museum of Arouca, a living space where we can discover the human occupation in this territory, its people, their habits and traditions. Then, by bus, you will visit the archeological site «Casal Romano da Malafaia», an agricultural couple from the end of the empire. Here you can observe Roman ruins and discover some traces of the passage of the Romans through the lands of Arouca, from numismatic treasures to gold mining mines.

Notes: 

• The transfer between the Historical Center (Tourist Office and Arouca Municipal Museum) and the Roman Couple of Malafaia is carried out in the group bus;
• Each bus will be accompanied by a guide;
• For each program, a maximum of 50 students and a minimum of 15 students are admitted per monitor. For lower or higher numbers of participants, contact the services;
• In case of rain, snow, thunderstorm or very cold forecast, we suggest changing the date of the visit.
