S9: “Stories of a Monastery with more than 10 centuries”

Summary: It starts at the Arouca Interactive Tourism Store, where you can better understand the heritage of the municipality of Arouca, and in particular its Monastery. Then, we leave in direction to the historic center of the Arouca town. The Santa Maria de Arouca monastery is considered one of the most important Portuguese monasteries and a true local ex-libris, where we can witness a material and immaterial invaluable legacy, associated to the Church and the Sacred Art Museum. This visit also includes the entrance to others monuments of the historic center, such as the Mercy Chapel, building of public interest, and typical houses from the 17th century (Ribeira House and Malafaias House).

Notes: For each program, it is allowed a maximum of 50 students and a minimum of 20, per tutor. If you have a superior or inferior number of participants, please contact us. The program includes the visit to the Sacred Art Museum. It includes a trail between the Arouca Interactive Store, the Sacred Art Museum, Malafaias Street and Calvary.
