Present
The Arouca Geopark, together with the other Portuguese UNESCO Global Geoparks (Naturtejo, Azores, Terras de Cavaleiros and Estrela) is promoting a set of informative sessions, on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, October 13.
The activities organised by AGA - Associação Geoparque Arouca (Arouca Geopark Association) are aimed at the 3rd cycle students of the Arouca School Group and are intended to raise awareness of geological, climatic/meteorological and biological risks, as well as the concepts of natural catastrophe, risk, vulnerability and hazard existing in these territories.
The International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction was celebrated for the first time in 1989, following a call from the United Nations General Assembly to annually promote global awareness of risks and disaster reduction on October 13.
